Kaikoa is Sally and Marc: two makers, one small workshop in Caloundra, and a life spent in and around the ocean.
The name
Kai · Koa
Hawaiian for ocean warrior, guardian of the sea.
There's no name more fitting for what we make, or the values we try to live by. We spend our days in the water, and everything we make starts there.

Sally and Marc set up their workshop in Caloundra with one idea: make ocean jewellery that is worth keeping forever. Real detail, solid metal, and pieces you can wear in the surf.
It started at the markets in Eumundi, Caloundra and Redcliffe. Face to face, one piece at a time. That's still how we think about every design, whether you find us at a stall or online.

Solid metal, made to last
Sterling silver and solid 9, 14 or 18ct gold. Never plated. Made to handle salt water, sunscreen and years of everyday wear.
Inspired by our coast
Humpbacks, mantas, reef and shell. Our designs come from the creatures and coastline of Australia's oceans, and the days we spend in them.
From wax to wear
How a Kaikoa piece is made.
- DesignEvery animal is sketched and modelled in 3D until the anatomy is right, down to the fins.
- WaxThe design becomes a wax, carved or printed, ready for casting.
- CastWe cast it in solid sterling silver or gold using the lost-wax method.
- FinishEach piece is hand-finished and polished in our workshop, then backed by our Forever Guarantee.

What inspires us
The Sunshine Coast,
The Sunshine Coast,
in every piece.
Every design starts close to home. Humpbacks passing Caloundra on their winter migration. Turtles, rays and dolphins in the Pumicestone Passage. Shells washed up after a big swell, and sunsets over Mooloolaba.
We spend as much time as we can in and around the water, then bring what we see back to our workshop in Caloundra.
